My Search For William Probert

William ProbertOne of the major omissions in the family tree is my mother's father, William Probert, whom she last saw when she was three years old. (She is now in her 80's). Unfortunately, there are now no living relatives who can tell us what became of him. He is currently proving to be extremely elusive and we are searching extremely hard but, at present, with only limited success. He was born on 13 April 1893 in Coseley Street, Bilston, Staffordshire and his parents were Francis Robert Probert and Mary Probert (nee Jones).

We also know he married Letitia Rolfe (Ralph) on 15 August 1920 in Bradley, Bilston and that his father was born 24 December 1858 at 3 Temple Street, Bilston, Wolverhampton and his occupation, like that of his father and grandfather before him, was boiler maker.

William Probert worked as an erector (scaffolder) and he lost his left leg sometime around 1925 in an industrial accident. However, we have practically no information about the period between 1930 and today (I don't even know the date and location of his death). We know so little about him that we are keen to find out anything that we can.
